One of my favourite quotes is from the film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. I’m a child of the 80’s, what can I say? The quote goes like this:
Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. How very appropriate is this nugget of advice? This resonates with me particularly right now as we are in the heart of the Spring/Easter Holiday. We have had a brilliant week of together time, Ella, Sam and I, and after today, we will have Mark with us as well. These are the moments that are the most important. We don’t have the budget or the energy to be on holiday somewhere warm and sunny so we’ll enjoy the time we have as a family in our partly sunny English countryside. Take some time today to stop, look and listen. You might just capture one of those precious moments in time that you will treasure forever.
If you have 14 minutes, tune in to the video below from the TED series of motivational talks. This particular talk is given by David Steindl-Rast who shares his thoughts about the key to happiness. I loved this message, particularly his advice which we all learned in childhood while crossing the street: STOP, LOOK and GO! I am trying to really live this message not only for me but also through this site. My goal is to spread happiness as cheesy as it sounds, as far and wide as possible. I can only do that with a bit of help from you. Share the message, share the Snail Mail challenge, tell me what you like best so far! I promise the ensuing journey will be well worth your while. Oh, and as it is Friday, embrace happy people!
