Savouring our Weekend- May 17-18, 2014 5

I talked last week about how much I am enjoying our weekends now that we have no major committments with activities or classes. This weekend, the entire country agreed with me! We didn’t want it to end. The PROPER sun came out and it truly felt like Summer. And what better to do than spend that time with family. We stayed up late, had mini-lie-ins in the morning, giggled, chased, smiled, ate and had minor tantrums (the kids, not us!). Perfection packed into two days!

Weekend1Brekkie outside is always a good way to start the day!

Weekend3We ventured into Peterborough and Daddy, the old softie, picked up two ponies for the kids. Meet Sparkles and Cause-eye (aka Bullseye…from Toy Story)

Weekend4We had a brilliant evening on Saturday lighting a fire and toasting marshmallows. Of course, they were turned into S’mores as all sane people do. What else would you do with marshmallows?

Weekend6You are licking the screen, aren’t you? I know, I don’t blame you. They are astonishingly good.

Weekend7Perfection on a stick. I have taught my husband well. They would welcome him as an American citizen any day.

Weekend8The boy is a fan!

Weekend9Grandad’s pool is clean and ready for the Summer. Ella’s birthday party will be at the in-law’s house in 2 weeks and it’s all stations go getting their garden and pool ready. The kids couldn’t resist putting their toes into the truly arctic water (no heat!).

Weekend10And what comes next? Mummy driving home to get the swim gear because her Best Girl simply HAS to try the pool. It was VERY cold. The take-your-breath-away-and-not-in-a-good-way kind of cold. Ella stayed in for about 8 minutes. Sam managed about 5. They were blue, but happy.

Weekend11Training begins for the Sports Day races. We simply must get the girl some trainers. Daddy is setting up the grid in the garden for speed training.

Weekend12And finally, one of Mark and I. A rare sighting, me in the picture. And even more rare, the two of us in the picture! Ella took the snap and did a pretty brilliant job. We are now counting down to next weekend. How many more sleeps??

What did you do with your weekend?
