Friday is the start of the weekend for me. We got off to a brilliant start when Ella came out of school and showed me the gap where her bottom front tooth had been. Her wobbly tooth from a month or so ago had finally given up and fallen out in the middle of Ella’s school assembly. Thankfully the tooth was saved and secured in a small envelope and we all hugged and shouted! What an exciting start to our weekend!
We headed to one of our favourite places, the Garden of Surprises at Burghley House, to meet up with our best buddies to celebrate Ella’s friend LB’s 6th birthday. The girls have been friends since we met at a Children’s Centre baby class nearly 6 years ago. Long may that friendship continue! The children changed into their swimming gear and squealed, splashed and soaked themselves while we took pictures!
We had quite a brilliant time and were set up for a fun weekend. Despite an early rain on Saturday morning, the rest of Saturday was brilliant. Ella got to practise her roller skating at LB’s official birthday party and after that we all got into the fun at our village park. I stunned the kids and Mark into silence as I rolled down the one hill in the park and then took a turn on the zip line. It was time for Mummy to have some fun too!
After the high octane of Saturday, Sunday called for a bit of quiet and relaxation. We picked up lunch fixings and headed to Nanny & Grandad’s with plans to swim. Thankfully the sun cooperated and the kids and Mark and I had a blast. I also realised that jumping into the pool is far less painful than inching myself in!
