I’ve been a reluctant blogger lately! I have been wrapped up in living life, wanting to write a lot and not entirely knowing how for some reason. Sometimes I feel like I have so much to say and nothing to say in the same thought! Is that possible? A wise blogger once said, if you feel you have nothing to say, don’t just blog for the sake of blogging. Blog for the love of blogging in other words.
We’ve spent the last 3 weeks enjoying the company of my sister-in-law and her family which has been brilliant. We’ve been wrapping up the school year for Ella and are on the home stretch to our Summer holidays. We’re planning and preparing for our extremely exciting and amazing cruise with Royal Caribbean and figuring out how to fill the remaining 6 weeks after our cruise. We’ve been busy!
The Embrace Happy Facebook group has continued to grow and is now at over 200 members. The idea of embracing happy is spreading and that makes me very happy indeed. One evening this week I saw a status from a friend who lives in the US. She was challenged by a friend of hers to share 4 or 5 pictures, in a collage, to show how beautiful she was. I’m not talking about society’s version of beautiful here. I’m talking about how, as a woman, mum, wife, daughter, sister and friend, we are beautiful every day. The idea is pretty simple: create a collage of pictures showing #beautifulme, share it on social media channels and tag 3 friends to take part as well. You can blog about it or just share it through social media. Ready for #beautifulme?
These pictures represent several sides of me over the last few months. This year has been such a big and important year for me. I started the year having my much anticipated abdominal surgery, enjoyed a visit from my Dad and Stepmum, began Embrace Happy and truly started enjoying life. I began a Paleo(ish) diet at the end of April, have lost about 14-15lbs, started drinking a lot more water and stopped eating processed food and unneccessary sugar (except for my Bourneville Dark Chocolate bar…2 squares for a treat). I got back into blogging, attended BritMums Live and got reinspired to start seeking out more freelance work. It’s been a pretty busy 6 1/2 months!
Now, it’s up to you! Dig out 4+ photos and create a collage, use the hashtag #beautifulme and #embracehappy and share the collage through your social media channels (tag me if you want me to find it easily). Then finally, share the challenge with 3 friends and spread the appreciation for ourselves. As women and mums, in particular, we tend to be taking all of the pictures. Get in the frame and CELEBRATE a #beautifulme! Are you ready? Steady? GO!!!
